Who are we? Since being founded during a 1984 APCG Bodega Bay Retreat led by Dr. Margaret Trussel, the Women's Network has aimed to welcome, support, and convene women identifying scholars in Geography. In a field and profession traditionally dominated by men, the Women's Network serves as an immediate community for women identifying students, early career faculty, and individuals from traditionally underserved groups in particular. Nearly 40 years since its establishment, the Women's Network continues to provide not just community for women identifying geographers, but opportunity in the form of the annual Women's Network Small Grant. Every year this grant supports outstanding women-identifying undergraduate or graduate students in their research and participation in the APCG Annual Meeting.
